Cedar City Subdivisions...Iron County Commission Minor Lot Subdivision....

The Iron County Commission Minor Lot Subdivision is an odd subdivision here in Cedar City and not just because of the name!  It is odd in that it only contains 6 lots in the entire subdivision.  It is one of those that is easy to include into either La Vista Park or Bladens Diamond Hills.

This Subdivision has been pretty stable, none of the 6 homes are currently listed for sale nor was I able to find where one had sold in the recent past.  These homes were built in 1950's or early 1960's; they, like the other houses nearby, enjoy mature landscaping and in a quiet area.

I only got 2 homes photographed but that is 1/3 of the subdivision:

One of the Reasons that I am Encouraged About Real Estate.....

I have posted several photos from our recent vacation to Oceanside California.  As everyone probably knows there was a huge storm that affected that area, then the rest of the United States before then during and after Christmas.  It stopped raining in Oceanside on December 22nd.  By the time that it was done in the San Diego area, at least 7 inches of rain or more fell depending on your location.

The reason behind this post, is what Darcy and I discovered as we walked along the beach.  I don't know if this was just kids playing or what, but there seems to be an instinctual thing about shelter, here is what we found on the 26th as we walked the beach:

Like I said, it may have just been someone playing, but the fact that a shelter was built is what gives me hope.  At the core, shelter is still a basic human need, even in bad economic times, it is still a need.  I also have faith in the American Dream.  I know that many of the media are saying that the dream of home ownership is a fading dream, and no one that people buy into.

I don't buy into that!  I believe that everyone wants a place to call their own!  I think that the media forgets that at times!  Even if the media is correct, which I highly doubt, someone has to own the dwellings that provide shelter!  Real Estate is a viable tangible need!  It is so much more than an investment vehicle, it is a need!  We need to remember that when we begin to get down!

Make it a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Vacation is winding down....

Well The C Team will be home tomorrow afternoon or evening closing what has been a fun vacation.  We are part of the Time Share Club Trendwest World Mark, although now it is a Windemere company.  We booked a condo at the World Mark in Oceanside, California.  What a great location!  You are through the parking lot from the Harbor at Oceanside.  It is an easy walk to the beach.  I will be writing several blogs about our trip I am sure.

We had a lot of rain the first 5 days that we were in California, which is the same storm that is wreaking havoc as it crosses the Country.  So I am not going to complain about the rain.  The one thing that is nice about Oceanside is that you are nearly in the middle of Disneyland and San Diego.  We went to Old Town San Diego one afternoon.  It was raining pretty good, so it cut our visit short.  We did enjoy some fantastic pizza at Pizza Bella!

We had Darcy's Brother, wife and 3 year old with us, so staying out in the rain wasn't really in the offering!  It is a fun place to visit.  Darcy and I have been there once before and really enjoyed it.  It is something that really doesn't cost you anything unless you decide to buy something from one of the shops there.

There are more photos, but one of the more quirky things that we did was an Olive Oil tasting at the Temecula Olive Oil Company.  I was amazed at the flavors that they were able to get from Olive Oil!

This is also a free activity, but I will guarantee that you will want to buy some Olive Oil when you're done!

I highly recommend a visit to Old Town San Diego when you're in the area!  It is a lot of fun, and there is a lot to do and try!

When in San Diego......or Meetin' in the 'Rain.....

When you come to San Diego, you need to look up Russel Ray and Jim Frimmer!  We spent a great evening eating and talking with them at Joe's Crab Shack at the Oceanside Harbor, in Oceanside, California.  I will say this, as a professional Realtor, if I were moving to San Diego, I would call Jim to handle my real estate needs!  He is very knowledgable.  The same with Russel and having him inspect my home.

It was a wonderful evening!  They even remembered Darcy's birthday!  The next time you're in San Diego, look them up!

Cedar City Subdivisions...Stanworth Subdivision....

The Stanworth Subdivision is also near Cedar High School, it is actually between South Elementary and Cedar High School.  This is another subdivision with several brick homes.  It was built in the early to mid 1970's.  Currently there are no homes listed for sale on our Multiple Listing Service in the Stanworth Subdivision.  This is another stable subdivision.  It is quiet, being a street or two removed from the heavier trafficked surface streets.

It is a nice subdivision to live in, here are some photos:
