Vegas Baby!!

 http://cruise-mart.com/

Darcy and I went to Las Vegas to meet with some fellow Realtors that we have met on our Point2 but are also AR members.  What a great tool this site and others are to make friends and referral agents across the country.  We had chatted with, and talked by phone as well as emailed back and forth.  Nothing is as good as actually meeting them!  What a great time we live in!  We can get to know people that are becoming some of our best friends and strongest associates on places like this.

I would encourage all Active Rainers to take advantage of the opportunity to get to know the other agents when it arises!  Now, I have no doubt where to I will send referrals as far away as Mass.  and the West Coast!  By the way, the weather was great!  Sunny and in the mid 80's, I got a sunburn and we came away with an extra $3!  Have a great week!

What Distinguishes You?

As I sit here pondering the work week that lays ahead, a question arose from my study.  What disinguishes you from all of the other Realtors?  It is a fair question.  I could say honesty and integrity, but then, so could most of the Realtors on my board.  Besides, it has been my experience that the more someone tell me about their honesty and integrity, the more I reach to make sure that my wallet is still there.

Honesty and Integrity, are best shown, not bragged about, at least in my opinion.  So this isn't an easy question, I am still working on my answer, but what is it that Darcy and I do better than everyone else in our board?  That is the hard question, and even more difficult, how can we make this a marketing advantage.  Something that benefits our clients, and separates us from the competition.

While we ponder this, I wold ask each of you the same question, what distinguishes you?  Think about it.  The answer once we come to it, will most likely make us all better Realtors!  Have a Great Week!

NFL Draft

I like sports as much as the next person, and found myself watching the NFL Draft.  Not that there is anything wrong with the NFL or it's draft, but it is a waste of time.  I mean, I am as guilty as anyone else for watching, it is sort of like coming up on a gory car wreck, you tell yourself you aren't going to look, but you slow down and stare intently.  I don't have anyting against the NFL nor the draft, it is just a huge waste of a Saturday.

I finally pried myself away from the TV and drove to a rental property that Darcy manages and did some minor repair work.  Like I said not an indictment on the NFL nor it's draft, it is just I don't understand why I get so wrapped up into something that is so boring: who are they going to pick and why.  I will be honest, I love to watch Football, but the draft?  I have heard all of the arguments and they are mostly valid about the need of the teams and how each of these kids will or will not fill those needs, but does that make it entertaining?  It must have been because I spent well over an hour watching before I turned it off and actually did something.

Arbor Day Cedar City and Enoch

This morning both Cedar City and Enoch City will have Arbor Day Celebrations with contest for school kids and others.  Cedar City and Enoch will each be given the designation of Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.  This is a wonderful way to be green.  The best thing about it as part of the celebrations seminars will be given on tree selection for our specific to our area and soil.

This is a great opportunity to get out and learn what type of tree will grow best in our area.  Along with the seminar on what types of trees, there will be a seminar on how to properly care for your trees.  Those who attend the seminars will recieve a $20 tree voucher, the activities and seminars are free.  All children attending will recieve a free tree as well as a demonstration of how to plant and care for their trees.

If you're in the area, this is a great opportunity to learn how to improve the environment by planting a tree, but even more, by planting the types of trees that work best in our environment.  Have a great weekend!
