I ahve been trying to get involved in the Social Media aspect of networking for business, but I will admit that I have gotten caught up in the sociality of the process. A short story, I spent most of my young life in the same town. I was in my thirties when I moved away. When I lived in Woods Cross, Utah, not a lot of families moved out, consequently we had the opportunity to know people for long periods of time.
After my father died and my mother retired, she moved back to Parowan, Utah where she was raised. By then I had also moved on, first to Lemoore, California, then to Las Vegas. As my mother got older, we moved to Cedar City, to be closer to her. Long story short, with my parents gone, I have not had any real reason other than nostalgia to spend time in my old home town. My brother and sisters live in general area, but each is about 20 to 30 miles away from Woods Cross.
I have had many friends in my lifetime, hope to have many more, but it is sad to me at times that I had lost contact with many of the people that I grew up with. This week on Facebook, I got back in touch with one of my oldest friends, ( I should say lifelong friends) I was even the best man at his first wedding. He has since remarried and relocated from the Southern area of Salt Lake to just north of Woods Cross.
It has been strange, remembering things that happened 20 to 25 years ago better than I remember that happened last week. It has been a great thing for me personally, I don't know if it will mean anything to me professionally, but personally, it has been a good thing. Sometimes you have to tend to the roots to make the tree itself stronger, at least that is what I am thinking.
So anyway, this is my plug to get on and get involved in some of the social networking sites. I like Facebook, but I am sure that the others are just as good! I have extended invitations to many here on Active Rain, but if you look for us, we each have seperate pages, it isn't under the c team. Look us up, you can never have too many friends!
If you're looking to buy or sell real estate in Cedar City, Utah; please give us a call. We would love to earn your business!
