Active Rain is Da Bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a wonderful opportunity to talk to a fellow Active Rainer, Sally Cheeseman, this afternoon.  It was great, one of the agents in our office has a brother and sister moving to the beautiful state of Hawaii, so I told him that he should call Sally, she works with Military Relocations and always seems to be warm and positive in her posts here on the Rain.  So when he called her they got talking about how he happened to call her, he told her that he found her here on Active Rain. (at our suggestion)

Unfortunately, my realtor friend isn't on Active Rain, we have sent him a couple of invitations, but he hasn't chosen to be blessed by being part of this great professional network of friends.  Sally asked if I was still at the office, that she wanted to say hello.  I had the opportunity to talk to with her for a few minutes.  I was immediately satisfied that my feelings about Sally and her being a great agent to help him were correct!  What a great tool we have in Active Rain to help us do our job and help our clients.

It is always wonderful to talk to fellow 'Rainers, and I look forward to meeting more of you as business dictates. Keep up the great work!  If you know anyone looking to buy or sell real estate in Cedar City, Utah; please give us the opportunity to earn their business and your referral!  Have a great weekend!

Rainy Friday..................

It has been a rainy Friday, who am I kidding it has been more than a week of rainy weather.  I am not complaining!  I love the rain in the Spring and Summer, it is cool and refreshing!  Here in Cedar City, we are fortunate to still be close enough to open range where there is still and abundance of sage brush, juniper and pinion pine trees.  There is nothing like the smell in the wind with those fragrances mixed in!  It is especially nice after the rain stops and the sun creeps out magnifying the aroma!

What does this have to do with selling real estate in Cedar City, Utah?  Probably nothing, but to those of us here it is a pleasant reminder of why we like living here in a smaller city.  It is also a reminder that it doesn't hurt to stop and smell something other than the roses!  Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating that work should stop each time that it rains.  What I am saying that appreciating the little things is always a good thing!  It seems to be the mantra right now with the state of the economy.

I am also saying that it is still a great time to buy a house in Cedar City, Utah!  There is still a great inventory and the Natural beauty both scenic and aromatic is worth a look!  Come on up and look up the C Team, we would love to earn your business!

The Happiest Place on Earth....................

Disneyland has long marketed itsself as the "happiest place on earth."  Having been there several times, I can see why they can make that claim.  From the moment that you arrive you are greated by smiling happy workers, even the ones that are sweeping up the trash are happy and smiling.  At least they have been each time that I have been there.  I have never felt like I wasted any money or time at Disneyland, even with long lines and a park crammed with people.

It isn't cheap to go to Disneyland, I just have always felt that I have recieved great value for my money each time that I visit the park.  What do the employees do besides smile and treat everyone politely?  I am not sure that I can name all of the things that they do, but I will try to compare that to our business of selling houses in Cedar City, Utah or in your area.

1. They make you believe that not only are they happy to be there, they are even more happy that you are there.  They smile, and when I say say smile, the employees faces must ache at the end of a shift from smiling. Their smiles also come across as genuine.  Do we treat our clients that way?

2. The customer is king!  I remember taking my wheelchair bound mother there not long before she died, it was her first visit.  She had the time of her life, they went out of the way to make sure that she was able to do what she was wished to do, and that she was comfortable doing it, from sending a van out to pick her up, to making sure that she was dropped off near our vehicle at the end of the day.  Do we make all of our customers feel like they are the King in our business.

3. They are positive in everything that they do, whether it is a by product of always smiling, I don't know, but the words they use, and the way that they resolve concerns, they do so in a positive productive manner.  Do we take the high road of being positive when a concern comes from anyone?  How do you answer, what's the market like? Does the manner of expressing our answer match the words coming from our mouths?

4. The park is always clean.  I mean really for a park that has that many people inside on a daily basis, that park is clean!  I have been in other less busy parks that aren't anywhere near that clean.  A clean desk may be a sign of a sick mind, but it also extremely beneficial to being able to effectively use your time, besides, what impression do you leave your client if papers are scattered all over the place and there are a dozen drive through drink cups bordering the outside of your desk?

5. They exceed expectations.  On each ride there is a sign that shows the estimated wait time for the ride.  Usually you can cut the estimated time in half as to what you actually wait.  Do we under promise and over deliver?  Our clients notice when do and when we don't.

6. They have a great delivery system.  It would be impossible to accomplish what they do on that scale without having every detail accounted for.  Their parades and shows start on time and end on time.  They move people through the park in an ordered fashion, even if it seems chaotic.  If not so, it would be constant grid lock through out the park.  Do we have the systems in place to make sure that our clients concerns and issues are taken care of?  Do our clients know or percieve that we are delivering a great value to them?

I am sure that there are many more things that Disneyland does that I have left out, these are what I, a casual and infrequent visitor of the park have noticed.  Here in the real estate market in Cedar City, Utah, I hope that what we aren't doing, we are trying to do!

If you're looking to buy or sell in Cedar City or surrounding areas, The C Team would love to sell your house! Make it a great week!

Summer Vacations

With School winding down in most areas, the thought of summer vacation comes up.  If most of you are like us and really just can't justify the expense of going to some exotic (read really cool) place to get away and relax, you may consider an old fashioned drive to vacation spot.  Many of us are old enough to remember the family vacation in the back seat of the car.  All your siblings stuffed inside the back seat, along with any toys, games, books and once in awhile friends.

It wasn't the most pleasant ride, ineffective if any air conditioning, multiple stops.  (Our car could pass anything on the road but a gas station with a bathroom.)  Heaven help us if anyone got car sick!  Things have changed, families are smaller and seat belt laws limit the number of people that can sit in one seat of the car.  Air Conditioning systems have become mostly standard and more effecient.  Many cars even have video players in them.

So if you are doing the old fashioned vacation, give Southern Utah a shot.  We have 6 beautiful National Parks, several other State parks, and a couple of National Monuments.  We also have beautiful Lake Powell, and miles and miles of ATV, and hiking trails for those who are trying to get away from things for a while.  Whether you are considering camping out, or finding a motel room and taking in a play at the Tony award winning Shakespearean Festival.

We have Golfing in many different golf courses through out the area, our terrain can be described as ranging from the desert to high mountains.  Come on and check us out.  I warn you, you may decide to stay!  At any rate Cedar City is the gateway to all of these incredibly beautiful areas!  Come on up and stay a day or a lifetime, either way we welcome you!

         Zions National Park

Bowl at Bryce Canyon National Park

                                             Escalante Grand Staircase National Park

As you can see these are just half of the wonders that await you here in Scenic Southern Utah.  Come up and see us!  As I said earlier, stay a day or a lifetime!  Make it a great week!
