I have written a couple of posts on the happenings going on Cedar City, Utah, so in fairness, I wish to remind everyone that this is a great county to live in, Parowan is hosting the Glider Competition that began June 1 and continues to August 15th.  This is a fun event to spend an afternoon watching these sleek, graceful vehicles soaring through the air!  This event takes place at the Parowan Airport, for more information please call (435) 477-9022.

This is an event that if you're in Cedar City today, you may wish to check out!  It is the 29th Anniversary Paiute Restoration Gathering and POW WOW.  Come and enjoy Native American Culture and Dancing.  It is a beautiful, colorful, and entertaining event.  It is held at the Paiute Tribal Center, in Cedar City, Utah.  It closes tonight, June 27th, so you will have to hurry to not miss out on the fun!

If you're coming to Cedar City this weekend, you're going to have a lot to do.  Groovefest goes through Sunday June 28th.  What is Groovefest?  Good question, it is a 4 day American Music Festival that began on Thursday June 25th and runs, well, like I said, until Sunday.  It is held at the Main Street Park at 200 North Main Street in Cedar City.  

It is easily found by exiting at Exit 59 off I15 and go East to Main Street, the Park is on the Northeast Corner of the intersection.  For more information www.groovefestutah.com.

I have been reading some inspirational quotes this morning and I came across one by one of my favorite US Presidents Harry S Truman.  I will not add anything to his quote, it is a classic!  It goes like this:

I know that I have commented on Social Media in the past, but I just wanted to talk about it again.  I am so excited of the possibilities that Social Media brings to us as Realtors, it allows us to build relationships with other Realtors to the point that I don't even hesitate to refer a client to an internet associate in another state or even country.  It is great!  I know that there is a lot of phishing and garbage that people try to exploit, but I really believe that the good far outweighs the bad.

Last night I was playing on another Source for Social Media, Facebook, and I found one of, if not my best friend from my childhood.  Like many people, we went our different ways after high school.  He moved to the East Coast while I have remained in the West.  Eventually his parents moved away from my hometown, then I did, and soon numbers are lost, living life takes our time and we lost track of each other.

I have not often been that excited while working (i.e. playing) on the computer when I saw his profile pop into my high school class group.  It is always great to reconnect with old friends!  It is just as great to make new ones, many of whom I think of us dear friends although I have never met them face to face. 

That is the magic of Social Media!  Sure we do business with it and it helps us market our houses that we have listed for sale, as well as finding buyers for those houses.  This is a great thing and reason to be involved in Social Media, but it is the relationships that make it really worth while.  Thanks for allowing me to ramble again!
