Great Book.....

I just finished read a great book that Darcy got me for Christmas.  It is entitled "No Greater Love" by Todd Anton.  Darcy, knowing of my love of baseball and history especially World War II found the perfect gift for me to read, and I highly recommend it to anyone here in the United States.  While it may not directly have a bearing on the Real Estate industry, it's message is inspiring and uplifting.

Mr. Anton is a history teacher in Phelan, California.  He put together a great book talking to former professional baseball players about their service in the Military during World War II and Korea.  He only used stories from Vetrans that were still living, and they weren't all household names, but it is an amazing book.  I am amazed at how freely and without regret many of these great men gave up their dreams to serve their country.

I was inspired by Dominic Di Maggio's having to fight to get the Navy to take him because of his vision problems, and how now he would feel ashamed if he hadn't served our great country!  While not the most famous of the Di Maggio brothers, he is certainly inspirational!  It made me take stock in what I enjoy and take for granted!

It also made me realize how greatful I am not just to those that played baseball, but to every man and woman that has served this country in times of war.  Thank you, each of you.  I know that it is only words, but they really are all that I have to say THANKS!!! I really do appreciate you and your service to all of us!

I highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a little inspiration, or purpose in their lives!  There are many lessons that are applicable to being a better Realtor, but more importantly, a better person.  Thanks again Mr. Anton, it is a great book!
