Computers and such

Well, the week is into full swing, and I have spent parts of two days trying to get my computer fixed.  It never fails, just when things seem to be improving, something else gets in the way.  My laptop has been infected with a virus.  We spent nearly an entire day getting the anti virus program to run through all of my programs to make sure that we had everything isolated and removed that was infected.  What a pain!

It worked great for a while then BOOM there it was again this afternoon, so another several hours spent running through the programs cleaning things out and getting rid of them.  It isn't real productive time, worse, it is probably faster for Darcy to clean up my computer than it is to run to the repair guy, pay him, and wait for him to be done.  I left it shut down after Darcy had it cleaned up this last time.  I am using a desk top computer to write with.

The point to my blog is that it is annoying that some talented, yet misguided @#$hole has nothing better nor more productive to do that design these viruses and worms then use them to infect and ruin other people's computers.  In a perfect world, the governments around the world would make these programmers replace every computer that their "creation" infects.  In a just and perfect world, they would also have to reimburse everyone for time and business lost.  It will never happen, but I think that it would only need to happen once or twice and the rest of these idiots would get the message.

Anyway other than that, it looks to be a great time to be in Real Estate!  With the stock market suffering, maybe more of the long term investors will realize what many of us have been saying, It's a great time to buy Real Estate!

If you're looking to buy or sell real estate in Cedar City, Utah; please give us a call.  We would love to earn your business!

So goes the old adage, never let a computer know how much you need it. Believe it or not, I have 3 boxes. One as a main and two for stand by. If one goes down, I can limp along on another until I get the other one back up again. 8-}

You might consider getting a Mac - I've heard you'll have less problems.  Part of the problem is the open architecture that Microsoft uses.  And since many techno-geeks hate Bill Gates and Microsoft, they generally target MS applications and leave the Mac users alone.  Also, there are a lot more MS users in the world, so if you want to infect as many computers as possible, that is the system they go after.

Macs will run most windows applications too.  Unfortunately, I can't afford one at this time, but it is on my list.  I am tired of the built-in-bugs and open-back-doors in the MS software code.

Just my opinion....

Man, I lost my hard drive last year and had to spend hours talking with someone from another country and after all that time they finally agreed with me-the hard drive was broken!! Then I got another and had to find all my old data and get it installed and it still isn't working right. Very frustrating.

It is amazing how reliant we have become on these machines. I lost my hardrive last year. It was only then that I realized that I had not backed everything up. Oh what fun.

Yup - can relate to computer crashes! yuck!  Probably shouldn't even be typing this on my computer.  It probably knows and will go into a snit about all of this. ;-)

I am glad that I am not the only one to have fun with this.  I have considered buying a Mac next time, although I was hoping for at least another year out of this computer.  I know that is hoping for a lot, but the way that the market has gone etc.  Thanks for commiserating!
