Floor Time....................

I don't know what it means to the market here in Cedar City, but today I had floor in the afternoon.  After having the last 7 times of doing floor time and having a lot of time to work on Blogs, listing packets, etc.  Today was busy.  I had two good, solid walk ins, and another agent took another solid walk in while I was showing a house to the first of my new clients.  Darcy had floor last Saturday and she also a real solid walkin who is now a client.

Like I said, I don't what it mean in the overall market, but to me it looks like things may be starting to move.   I am excited at this.  The agent that got the other walkin said that he has had that happen more than once in the past week, he has been doing paperwork and been asked to pickup and help a walk in or a caller.  This is more (unsolicited) interest like I said than I have seen in nearly a year and a half.  Let us hope that money smart people are realizing that now is a great time to buy and sell!

If you're looking to buy or sell real estate in Cedar City, Utah; please give us a call.  We would love to earn your business!

I wasn't on floor this morning, but 1st shift had 2 1 million waterfront buyers call in as well as a condo buyer. The agent has appointments with all by Saturday.

Realtors destroyed the concept of floor time when they began putting riders on their signs with their names and personal phone numbers on them.

The irony of this, of course, is it causes them to have to decide what to do when they get a call...are they going to go for dual agency?

I think it is fine if the agent puts his/her name on the rider as the listing agent, but the only phone number should be the office's main number, and that number should only be listed in the body of the sign.

There was a time when new agents could sign up for floor time and actually get enough business to make a living while they were building their referrals.  No more.  It makes me sad.

Thanks for your responses, sorry, I have been ill and haven't felt like doing much of anything.   I really wrote this blog to show my enthusiasm that the market in our area may be turning around.  A fact that really excites me, I hope that it is turning in every market in the country, that really can only help us here as well.

For those of us who do floor time it has been getting better here too.  Also, I had 4 couples come to my Open House Sunday as well (previous Open House at same location had no one show).
